South Ribble Women's Refuge officially launch their Christmas 'Wish Tree' campaign today. They are now urging kind-hearted members of the public to play Secret Santa to the Refuge's resident children.
Special gift tags written by the children are now hanging on two special wish trees thanks to staff at South Ribble Council and Progress Housing Group.
Explains Liz Stanton, Manager at the Refuge:
'Christmas is a particular busy time for the Refuge and many of the women and children arriving here have had to leave their homes in a hurry, taking only the barest of essentials with them.
'By selecting a tag from the wish tree and donating a gift you can be a secret Santa and help to make Christmas a happier one for the women and children living at the Refuge .'
The Christmas trees are located at the South Ribble Borough Council's Civic Centre in Leyland and in the reception of Sumner House, Kings Street, Leyland. Donations of food and new or nearly new toys are also very welcome. Back to News.
