NEW PROGRESS HOUSING ASSOCIATION has taken a step closer in its drive to stamp out Anti Social Behaviour by successfully obtaining an Injunction with the Power of Arrest.
New Progress tenant, Sean Corrigan, from Bamber Bridge, had caused significant problems in and around properties owned by the Association, which had culminated with a physical attack on a member of the Association's staff at another tenant's property in Houghton.
On hearing the evidence at Preston County Court, District Judge Talbot found that Corrigan was a potential danger to local residents and employees of the Association and the Judge granted an Injunction with the Power of Arrest for a 12 month period that forbids Corrigan to use or threaten to use violence against any person who resides, lawfully visits or lawfully occupies premises in the neighbourhood of Charles Crescent, Houghton, where the incident took place.
Gary Melia, Head of Housing Operations said, "The welfare of our staff is an utmost priority. We feel that the District Judge's decision to grant an injunction with the power of arrest in this matter sends out a strong message that aggression, violence or threats of violence towards our staff will not be tolerated."
