Bulldozers at Royal Avenue, Wade Hall made a striking silhouette against the winter's sky last week as residents gathered to watch the demolition of the former shopping centre.
Amateur photographer, Tim Frier, captured the mood with a stunning photograph as the remaining bricks of the derelict shops came down.
New Progress Housing Association is completely regenerating the site with a brand new children's centre, community centre and new shopping centre, due for completion in July 2006.
Progress is funding the new community centre and shops at a total cost of £760k whilst South Ribble Borough Council is contributing a donation of £20,000 towards the new community centre and the County Council is funding the children's centre as part of the Government's Children's Centre initiative.
