Plans to redevelop the shopping centre on Royal Avenue of the Wade Hall estate in Leyland are now underway.
Following intensive discussions with a range of different organisations and New Progress tenants from the Wade Hall area, a plan has been put together which includes:
- The complete demolition and clearance of the existing site
- The construction of two new shops
- The construction of a new community centre, far bigger than the existing Family Centre and providing the base for a much wider range of activities.
New Progress is to fund the £800,000 project, with South Ribble Borough Council making a donation of £20,000 towards the new community centre. Work is due to commence on the site from Monday 22nd August.
