When a cricket club needed some expert refurbishment a team of Progress volunteers gave their time and skills free to revamp the seating area.
The club was bowled over by the offer and officials are now delighted with the work by eight men from Progress Housing Group in Leyland.
The work mates upgraded the seating by rebuilding and painting it and generally sprucing up the Leyland and Farington Cricket Club ground in Fox Lane, Leyland.
They did the work over a weekend as part of a national event organised by the England and Wales Cricket Board to get volunteers to help out in the community.
The Progress volunteers wanted to help out at the Leyland club because the company's own cricket team plays there and some of the children of the staff do too.
The Progress team was Mark Robinson, Steve Coxhead, Dave Bailey, Peter Ogley, Andrew Styles. Carl Booth, Mick James and Steve Mc Mahon. |
