10 April 2008

If you're one of our green-fingered tenants then you could be rewarded for your glorious garden in our 2008 gardening competition. £1,000 worth of prizes will be awarded to those with the most spectacular gardens.
Anyone living in a New Progress property can enter the competition and there are categories to suit all shapes and sizes of gardens. If you have worked with other residents to look after a shared garden, then you can enter the competition as a group. You can even recommend a friend.
We've launched a new sunflower growing competition for children under 16. To download our sunflower growing competition for children entry form click here.
The following categories can be entered:
1. Containers, window boxes and hanging baskets
2. Small gardens - balconies, yards and gardens under 16 square metres (front or back)
3. Large gardens - yards and gardens over 16 square metres
(front or back)
4. Communal areas of any size tended by one or more households (non-sheltered housing)
5. Communal areas of any size tended by one or more households (sheltered housing)
6. Home-grown fruit or vegetables
The first prize in each category is a garden centre voucher worth £75, the second £50 and the third £25.
Entry forms are available from Sumner House, by clicking here and downloading the form from our Talk2Progress website or from our Customer Services team on 01772 450600. All entries must reach us by Friday 30th May.
All gardens will be judged in July, so there's still plenty of time to plant and prune. Back to the News section of the website.
