South Ribble Women's Refuge are urging kind-hearted members of the public to play Secret Santa to the Refuge's resident children.
Special gift tags written by the children are now hanging on three wish trees thanks to staff at South Ribble Council and Progress Housing Group.
Explains Liz Stanton, Manager at the Refuge:
'This is a very busy time for the Refuge due to the increase in domestic incidents at Christmas time. Many of the women and children fleeing to us to escape domestic abuse arrive with nothing but the clothes they stand up in.'
'By selecting a tag from the wish tree and donating a gift you can be a secret Santa and help to make Christmas a happier one for the women and children living at Clare House.'
The Christmas trees are located at the SRBC's Civic Centre in Leyland and in the reception of Progress Housing Association, Sumner House, Kings Street, Leyland. Donations of food and new or nearly new toys are also very welcome.
