We run a number of schemes to help people facing homelessness or fleeing domestic violence. Foundations and Inn2, based on Oxford Street in the Avenham area in Preston is a new two-storey building, housing 22 self-contained flats for adults and young people. The Bridge based on Clarence Street in Chorley houses ten self-contained flats for young people. New Fylde Housing manages 14 units of accommodation for people experiencing homelessness.
For women and their families escaping domestic abuse, our women's refuge provides homes and support services for up to eight women and 16 children.
What to do if you are homeless
If you are homeless or being threatened with homelessness, you should contact the Housing Department at your local council immediately. Do not leave it until the last minute and you should not permanently leave your home until you are legally obliged to do so (usually by court order) as this may prove to be detrimental to any application for assistance that you make. If you are in fear of violence at your home, please call our domestic abuse help-line to speak to an advisor in confidence on 01772 435865 or email clarehouse@progressgroup.org.uk The line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Alternatively, your local Housing Department can help.
